Experience :
8+ Years

Required Skills :

• 5 to 10 years of experience in the analysis, design, implementation and support of Enterprise Monitoring systems.
• 3 to 5 years minimum experience specifically with IBM Tivoli Netcool, Impact, IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM), IBM Tivoli Network Manager(ITNM) and Business Server Manager (TBSM).
• Configures views, rules, and automates tasks associated with distributed systems (database, network, application, web, hardware and OS)
• Integrates alerts from various monitoring and diagnostic tools into a single 24X7 interface
• Manages the event management and report databases using Oracle, MS SQL Server and MySQL
• Works with other departments, locations, and new projects to deploy monitoringm solutions to business systems
• Generates, modifies, and troubleshoots programs and scripts used for monitoring or automating systems performance statistics
• Focus on providing automation and self-service interfaces to complex tasks
• Respond to all customer monitoring related technical issues and resolve rapidly
• Troubleshoot all aspects of monitoring systems effectively and understand the configuration, flow and logging in detail
• Document system configurations and any custom built applications
• Provide dashboards and metrics to give performance and capacity data
• Plan, execute and drive the success of complex technical projects
• Set and maintain a high quality bar for the work being performed
• Drive best practices and tools associated with discipline roles
• Maintain strong domain knowledge

Responsibilities :

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols like SNMP, TCP/IP, TL1
• Experience with Network support services (i.e. DNS, SNMP, HTTP, others)
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
• Good knowledge of middle ware and database technologies
• Must have excellent people skills, as well as great verbal, written, and interaction skills
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Unix Shell, PowerShell, Python, and others)
• Strong development skills in C or C++ or Java or PHP
• Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in related area of study (Computer Science, Information Technology, or other)
• Project leadership experience
• Technical team leadership experience (formal or informal)
• Experience with Open Source monitoring solutions
• Strong design and architectural background, and demonstrated success in this area in previous work
• Strong cross group collaboration skills, and experience working with both internal and external partners and customers
• Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical Core Competencies
• Strong problem solving skills and analytical ability
• Ability to work under stressful situations, meet tight deadlines and deliver services with high quality
• Ability to lead and motivate others and work in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills in order to be able to participate and drive customer meetings
